Squirrel Class
Welcome to Squirrel Class!
We are a mixed Year 3 & 4 Class and Miss Butcher is our teacher each Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoon; Mrs Banks is our teacher Wednesday morning and all day Thursday and Friday.
In Squirrel class, learning is engaging and exciting across the curriculum. We always try our hardest and challenge ourselves, whilst having fun at the same time! We are not afraid to make mistakes in our work as we see it as a learning opportunity.
Helping your child with their learning:
Reading:
We encourage reading with an adult at least five times each week. Remember to record it in your reading record and bring them into school on Friday morning.
Please continue to read to your child even when they can read themselves - it helps to develop their fluency and comprehension skills, and it's a special time to share together!
We encourage reading for pleasure:
What are your favourite things to read? Stories, comics, information texts, poems, recipes, online games, or something else? Where do you like to read - in bed, in the car, in the bath, in the garden, on the sofa or somewhere else?
Maths:
Login to Doodlemaths
Times tables Yr 3 at least x2, x3, x5, x4, x6, x8, x10
Yr 4 all times tables to 12
Times tables ideas for home - singing, chanting, or quizzes in the car to make car journeys fun!
This site has some great songs to help with times tables (but also with grammar and lots more):

Spellings:
Worksheets linking to our weekly spelling focus will be uploaded to Class Dojo at the beginning of each week to support the spelling rule. You can use this sheet to support your child with their learning.
Parents/Carers,
We would love to learn from you, so if you have any special skills or talents you would be willing to share, then please get in touch!
